Tatenda is a founding director of Nurture. Before founding Nurture, Tatenda was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs International, based in Johannesburg and covering Sub Saharan Africa. During his four years at Goldman Sachs, Tatenda advised corporate and high net worth clients looking to invest in Africa, as well as African companies seeking to raise debt or equity financing.
Barbara is a Chartered Accountant with over twelve years' experience in external and internal audit, tax, financial reporting, financial due diligence, valuations, mergers and acquisitions, financial management and project management. She has worked in the USA, the Netherlands, South Africa and Zimbabwe for top tier firms such as PwC and the Econet Group.
Kuda is a CFA Charter holder with over eight years’ experience in investment management and financial services. He is mainly responsible for overseeing the investment process for Nurture’s prospective and current investments, and he is key leader on several advisory projects across a number of different sectors.Kuda Gumbie studied Economics, Finance and International Trade at Deakin University in Australia. Since graduating he has worked in Retail, Construction and Financial Services. In his previous roles he has held various managerial positions and has experience in research and financial analysis, portfolio management, due diligence, client relationship management and administration.
Teresa holds a BSc. (Hons) Degree in Information Systems and a post graduate diploma in Development Education with Kimmage University. She holds a Master of Science in Strategic Management with Chinhoyi University of Technology. In her twelve-year career, she has held roles such as Programs Officer, Marketing Manager and Executive Assistant. Immediately prior to joining Nurture, she worked at the Australian Embassy under the Direct Aid Program as an Administrative Assistant performing monitoring and evaluation and grants management duties. Teresa now serves as the System's Administrator at Nurture and also runs a retail business.
Tazreen is a highly experienced member of our team who has accumulated knowledge and increased skill over 19 years. During her career, she has worked in administrative and coordinator roles in the legal field as well as the education and health sectors. Having spent 10 years in a number of roles at the Harare International School, Tazreen has acquired insight into interacting with and serving individuals from many different countries, cultures and backgrounds, which insight she brings to the work we do at Nurture. Tazreen also stays up to date with the most efficient ways of organizing our administration at Nurture in order to ensure that we run as a well-oiled machine.
With a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the prestigious University of Cape Town, Zinzi brings extensive expertise in commercial law honed through a distinguished career. She has previously served at DLA Piper Africa Zimbabwe - Manokore Attorneys, where she gained valuable experience in a range of legal disciplines. Additionally, Zinzi has undergone advanced management training and participated in a significant secondment to the London office of DLA Piper LLP UK, where she worked within the Transfer Pricing and Litigation teams. Her background combines rigorous legal training with international exposure, equipping her with a comprehensive and strategic perspective on commercial legal issues.
Prince graduated from University of Cape town in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Business Science degree (B.Bus.Sci) specialising in Finance with Accounting at the University of Cape Town (UCT). After graduating he spent three years at Corporate Excellence Financial Advisory as a Financial Analyst working on M&A deals, corporate finance, business restructuring, and advisory for listed and large private companies across all sectors in Zimbabwe.
Laurencia is a holder of BTech Honours Degree in Financial Engineering. She has over four (4) years’ experience in capital markets regulation with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ). During her time at SECZ, she was responsible for licensing and prudential supervision of all Securities Market Intermediaries (SMIs) - conducting inspections and enforcing SMIs compliance with the applicable regulations. In addition, she was instrumental in the drafting of various capital market policies and guidelines to direct market operations and oversee new products.
Tatenda has a BSc in Actuarial Science from Curtin University of Technology and an advanced certificate in Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management from the University of South Africa. She has over 8 years’ experience in the financial services industry, specializing in macroeconomic research, product development, portfolio management as well as sales.
Leo is a highly motivated Finance professional with a knack for providing key analytical support to company managers. He graduated with a Master’s in Development Finance from the University of Cape town Graduate School of Business (2022) and a Business Science degree (B.Bus.Sci) specializing in Finance with Accounting from the University of Cape Town (UCT).Experienced in budgeting, forecasting, data analytics as well as reviewing internal company processes to advise on any improvements which could be made.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting and Finance from Swinburne University of Technology in Malaysia. After graduating from University, she had the opportunity to gain vast experience in a Private Equity and Advisory firm as well as knowledge in the Investment and Finance Market for 3 years. She is currently pursuing her ACCA qualification at the Strategic Professional Level. Upon completion, she will be able to register as a Chartered Certified Accountant.
Tavonga has a Bachelor of Technology Honours Degree in Information Technology. She has worked in the banking and financial services and is currently pursuing a Masters with a specialisation in Data Science.
